Halfmoons
A truly magnificient fish. The Halfmoon betta's
caudal fin (tail) spreads a full 180 degrees. If the
tail spread is over 180 degrees the fish is then considered
"Over Halfmoon" or "OHM".

|
HMx
(Halfmoon Trait)
The HMx is an offspring of HM x HM that
potentially may produce HM but the visible characteristics
of said offspring are not equal to HM by the IBC standard.

|
Crown Tails
The Crown Tail betta is such a beautiful fish.
The rays in the tail of a Crown Tail extend past the edge
of the tail exhibiting a "crown" like appearance.
A extremely graceful fish to look at.

|
Plakats
The Plakat or Plakad is better known as the "fighter" type.
Bred all over Asia for it's fierce, aggressive nature.
While it's finnage is not as majestic as a Halfmoon's, it is
still a very elegant betta and is essential to further your
finnage in Halfmoon breeding.

Double Tails
The Double Tail betta has two distinct caudal
lobes (tail lobes). It's dorsal fin is much larger than
a Halfmoons, giving it a very regal appearance.

|
|
Giants
The Giant betta is just that, a giant among bettas,
often growing anywhere from 3 to 6 inches in length and
sometimes larger if conditions are optimal. A truly awesome
sight.

|
Wild Types
The Wild Type or "Wild Caught" bettas
are those which are found in their natural habitat, naturally
beautiful bettas now raised by betta breeders around the
globe. Such bettas as the Imbellis, Smaragdina, Mahachai
and Macrostoma, to name a few, are included in the "Wild
Type" category.
